From Yunctures incubator to Silicon Valley

Do you remember Daniel Blomdahl who previously was in the Yunctures incubator with his company Enabi? It has now been a year since the end of the program and a lot has happened for Daniel and Enabi. Among other things, they have pivoted and expanded the team and are currently in a new developmental stage. All of this while Daniel also commutes between Gothenburg and Silicon Valley.

"In general, I am difficult with telemarketers, but there was something special about Daniel."

I'm sorry, but the text you provided is incomplete. Could you please provide the complete sentence or phrase you would like me to translate?Danielmove into Yuncture's incubator together with three other startup companies. The idea was then toEnablewould help industrial companies take the next step in the industrial revolution by offering a web-based tool that enables data analysis and thus makes it possible to make more fact-based decisions.

Daniel was at this time alone in the company and he explains how it became clear during the incubator program that it is more difficult to succeed as a single person.

- It was actually Eric who is responsible for the incubator at Yuncture that opened up for that idea and the more I thought about it, I realized the advantages of having someone with me. I then started looking around among my contacts but I never found a "perfect match".

At the same time, Daniel was sitting as usual, making cold calls to sell his analysis tool. That's when he made contact with Joakim, who worked as a system responsible consultant in a company. Here, Joakim himself tells the story of the call.

- Daniel called and wanted to sell his analysis tool to me. Normally, I'm difficult with telemarketers, but there was something special about Daniel and I actually listened to what he said.

He continues.

- I was very impressed by what he had done. I had to some extent already built my own system where we could extract the data we needed. But Daniel had done it in a completely different way and moreover, packaged it really nicely. So then and there, we decided to book a follow-up meeting so that we could both tell more about our self-developed solutions.

The follow-up meeting was just as successful as the first phone call, and somewhere along the way, the thoughts of doing something together were sparked, but what they would do was not obvious. They took a weekend trip to Spain with the goal of figuring this out. At the airport on the way back, the penny dropped for Daniel - it's a CRM tool that our customers need.

Developing your own CRM system is not a unique idea in itself. However, by having a two-way connection to Monitor, a system used by the majority of industrial companies in the Nordics, Enabis has a good starting point. Monitor is a business system where you manage all purchases, orders, and essentially the entire manufacturing process. It is a good system, but the sales support is inadequate and often results in complementing with Excel lists, LinkedIn, or a CRM system that does not sync with Monitor, which creates unnecessary double work.

So now Daniel and Joakim are in the midst of a development phase of Enabi sales support that will have a unique two-way connection to Monitor. During the fall, they have conducted interviews in parallel with other jobs and now they are working hard on programming and UX, and now it is finally time to start selling.

Probably you as a reader have already figured out that Daniel found his co-owner in Joakim? And if you hadn't, we hope it became clear now. Soon, both of them will work full-time on the venture. But how does Silicon Valley fit into the picture then?

Yes, Daniel took on a mission where he would implement Monitor's system at an industrial startup. During the fall, he took on the role as sales responsible, and some of their customers are the largest tech companies in Silicon Valley. He has then had the opportunity to be involved in opening doors through new customer meetings with several of the USA's biggest IT giants.

- Now I have experience of being a salesperson in an industry that uses Montitors system. It is precisely those who are Enabis users and customers, so I have really gained good insights. It feels divided and sad to have to end that assignment while it feels obvious to focus on our own company.
